How to write Civics Research Papers, Term Papers & Thesis

Most research papers and term papers on civics are written in APA, MLA and APSA styles. The exact style varies according to the type of paper and the length.

Civics refers to the science involved in studying comparative government and also how the theory of governance is applied to the various institutions of the state. Typically, civics is regarded as a sub-field of applied ethics and political science.

Studies in college regarding civics are typically related with history, religion as well as media literacy. In the US, the statement above is the absolute rationale and thinking behind public education that is to ensure that the Constitution of the land is upheld by citizens.

In general research papers follow the format: “tell them what you will tell them; then tell them and then tell them what you just told them.”

Civics paper typically starts with a short introduction. An author is expected to recapitulate his or her main argument although an effective summary negates the need for them to be repeated in the conclusion. In this case the conclusion is used further explore the implications of the main arguments presented. Good writing is absolutely essential at all times when writing a paper. It is important since a good essay is expected to demonstrate clear thinking combined with effective communication.

Often civic studies overlap theories of urban planning and it’s hard to distinguish between the two. This is especially the case when civic theories are applied in rural areas and are difficult to distinguish from rural development theories. The history of civic s dates back several centuries to the theories of the likes of Plato and Confucius in China. These theories have led to the modern foundations of distinctions between East and West and the difference in the ideas of rights, justice and role of ethics in government.

The most important concepts in civics include form of government, design of an electoral system as well as present and future electoral reforms. This means a comparison of wealth distribution, voting systems, decentralization of power in the society and the adoption and practice of legal codes.

On a smaller scale, the modern development theory seeks to unify and integrate ethics as well as small-scale politics with sustainable economic development in urban and rural settings. Famous theorists include the likes of Carol Moore and Jane Jacobs. Civic theories vary in their trust in public institutions and can be judged on a scale between the minimum (mob rule) and maximum (totalitarian) degrees. The most important civic theories include

Libertarianism
Direct democracy
Bioregional democracy
Absolute monarchy
Anarchism
Ochlocracy
Deliberative democracy
Constitutional monarchy
Technocracy
Socialism
Aristocracy
Dictatorship
Representative democracy

Peace Studies Research Papers

How to Write Peace Studies Research Papers, Term Papers & Thesis

Research papers and term papers in peace studies are typically written in APA, MLA and ASA style of writing. The format and style aspects depend in the kind, level and length a paper.

Peace studies, also known as Irenology/Iridology, refers to an academic field which is involved in identifying as well as analyzing violent and nonviolent behaviors and the structural mechanisms which attend social conflicts in an effort to understand the process which can result in a more suitable human condition.

Peace Studies is essentially an inter-disciplinary area in which several branches of social science such as Economics, Religious Studies, Psychology, History, International Relations, Political Sciences and Anthropology contribute heavily to understand how to prevent conflicts and achieve de-escalation and solution to conflicts.

Writing a research paper or term paper in Peace Studies could mean several things. It could mean a general research, social issues paper, case study and also writing with data. Typically, papers in peace studies include a number of sections. The first important element of the paper is a title page which clearly mentions the topic. This is followed by the Abstract which should be less than 150 words long. After this the methodology section can be included if you want to have done research on the topic. The results section should mention all the data that you have generated.

The text in the paper should follow the style guides accurately such as APA and MLA styles which ever is suggested by your professor. The research and conclusion can be followed by a references page and appendices.

Even though philosophers and individuals like thought made several attempts to understand peace and the philosophy of peace, it was only after the Second World War in the 50s and 60s that Peace Studies developed as a formal academic discipline.

Peace Studies is classified in the following ways:

Multi-level Approach: The discipline attempts to examine intra personal peace between single individuals, neighbors, ethnic factions, states all the way up to civilizations.

Normative Approach: In this regard, Peace Studies essentially involves judgments regarding values and what is “good” and what is “bad.”

Multi-disciplinary Approach: Includes elements belonging to Political Science, Psychology, Economics, Sociology and Anthropology among others.

Multi-cultural Approach: This approach has so far remained a far fetched dream since the vast majority of Peace Institutions are based in the West.

Peace studies is now an established discipline within the social sciences and separate departments for its studies have been organized at several western colleges and universities.

The 3 Peace Conceptions have played a key role in initiating an intellectual climate that promotes research on peace. The first of these conceptions is that rational reasoning implies that peace is a natural condition and not war. The principle behind this is to do enough research and present ideas to decision makers who will then prefer peace and avoid conflicts and war. The second conception is that war is sinful according to almost all religious traditions. The last of these 3 conceptions is pacifism which means that pacifism is supposed to a fundamental power in human behavior.

How to Write CAD and CAM Papers, Term Papers & Thesis

CAD and CAM term papers and research papers are typically written in Chicago style or IEEE style although some papers also use other formats depending on the type and length.

CAD is an acronym for Computer Aided Design and uses something known as TTUA. IT is the use of a broad range of tools that are intended to assist architects, engineers as well as design professionals in their professional activities. CAD is the fundamental geometry authoring tool in the PLM process also known as Product Life cycle Management. It involves software as well as in some case, special hardware.

CAM stands for computer-aided manufacturing and is often integrated with CAD to smooth line the manufacturing processes in several industries. The acronym is also used to refer to Computing Aided Maneuvers. The Cam system is often employed in order to simplify and stream line the machining and designing process. CAD-CAM Systems typically use "solids" and “wire frame” for the purpose of post-processing intermediate code files.

To start of with a term paper or research paper about CAD/CAM, think about a topic that is of particular interest and think what makes them so interesting. To start of you can make an outline, list any ideas without censoring them in the brain and sort these out on the paper. The next thing to consider is who will be the readers or the audience that the paper is going to be presented to. What do you expect the reader or audience to learn from the paper?

To start of specialized encyclopedias are a good source. To further cement your knowledge regarding a topic you can use academic journals, books, and key notes of conferences. These references can become great sources which you can quote in your paper. See how old a specific source is. The use of out of date information can be extremely troublesome when you are writing a paper on CAD or CAM. See of the sources are scholarly and written by experts on a topic.

Collect information from you research of the relevant literature (journals, books etc.) on the topic and test the appropriateness as well as the depth of coverage of the topic. Once the writing part is complete and you have appropriately cited all the references, read the paper out loud. Reexamine the main thesis of the paper and see of the central topic and sub topics and coherent with the thesis. It is essential that the paper “flows” and is coherent.

CAD is an extremely robust and accurate tool for designers although it is also used as a drafting tool. CAD provides a simple time-saving tool along with clean methods for the study of the design process and consequently come up with a near perfect design. The current packages of CAD include two dimensional vector based drafting systems and three-dimensional parametric surface as well as solid design modelers
