How to Write Vocational Education Research Papers

Research papers and term papers in Vocational education are written in a variety of styles like APA, MLA and other field specific styles like CSE/CBE Style. Even so, the style and the format vary according to the type, level and length of a paper.

Vocational education, better known as VET (Vocational Education and Training) and (CTE) Career and Technical Education, is geared towards practical activities and courses are conventionally limited to specific trades, occupation and vocation. Vocational education is considered technical education since learners are taught to become experts in specific techniques and technologies.

An important focus of vocational education is to check effective technical writing skills. In some courses, you may be told to prepare numerous research papers and term paper essays to built upon what you have learn. Written as well as oral communications skills are among the most important universal qualities that are sought after by employers and teachers alike. You alone are left to write the research paper without any help from teachers or peers.

One objective of a research paper or term paper is to organize in a way that readers can go through the paper selectively. In this regard, it becomes important to divide the paper into different sections so that readers can go to the sections they want to read directly. For instance, when a person is reading a paper or essay, he may just be interested in the methods, results or perhaps even the interpretation of the results. The sections listed below are generally required of all professional research papers:

1. Title page
2. Abstract
3. Introduction
4. Materials and Methods
5. Results
6. Discussion
7. Literature Cited

The title page includes information like name of the author, institution and the topic. The abstract is a short summary which aims to present a short summary of the whole paper including results and some details about the procedure, methods and also interpretations of the results. The introduction provides details of what the study or paper is about and some details of past work done on the paper before you. The Methods section provides details of how you implemented the project followed by results and discussion sections. Lastly, proper referencing is required mentioning where you took an idea or quote from.

The terms vocation and career have often been used interchangeably. Vocational education is different from other education which focuses on theory as well as abstract conceptual knowledge and is considered tertiary education. Vocational education is accepted as recognition of prior learning as well as partial academic credit when it comes to tertiary education (such as given in a university). Vocational education is highly correlated to the apprenticeship system and the two often work hand in hand for promoting practical learning.

As employment markets demand specialized workers, skills and the needs of organizations, governments and businesses have to be met with vocational education. As such, employers and governments can increasingly be seen to promote and find vocational education more and more.

The expertise that can be learn through vocational education has been growing and become more and more diversified over the last 100 years. And training programs can be observed in industries ranging from retail and tourism to cosmetics and information technology.
